AMUSEMENT DEVICES INSPECTION PROCEDURES SCHEME (ADIPS)
ADIPS is administered by ADIPS Ltd, who describe the scheme as follows;
ADIPS (Amusement Device Inspection Procedures Scheme) is the fairground and
amusement park industry’s self regulated safety inspection scheme which
registers competent ride inspectors and the rides they inspect.
The purpose of the scheme is to promote and improve fairground and amusement
park safety through rules and procedures relating to the annual inspection of
the amusement devices. It is supported by industry associations who require that
their members use ADIPS.
These industry associations make up the policy setting body for the procedures
scheme which is the Amusement
Device Safety Council (ADSC).
ADIPS is also available to any operator of amusement devices as it demonstrates
“BEST PRACTICE” and their compliance with the Health and Safety at Work (etc)
Act.
HSEC are registered as an inspection body with ADIPS Limited and are also members
of the National Association for Fairground and Leisure Industry Certication
(NAFLIC). NAFLIC is one of the trade associations that comprise ADIPS' safety
council. HSEC's Technical Director sits as a member of the NAFLIC standards
committee.
