HSEC is one of the largest suppliers of engineering and health & safety services to the fairground and leisure industry in the UK. Over the last eight years we have been responsible for the design verification of all new rides and safety modifications to existing rides for the Tussaud's Group (now Merlin Entertainments) whose attractions include Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Warwick Castle & Madame Tussaud's London. HSEC have also provided these services for other theme parks such as Drayton Manor, Fantasy Island, Flamingoland, Wicksteed Park and Robin Hill, and directly for ride manufacturers and/or ride importers.
HSEC is an ADIPS registered inspection body and provides pre-use design verification services under the ADIPS scheme. This involves independent 3rd part review of the manufacturers design, assessment of conformity to design and initial test. HSEC also conduct annual examinations of amusement devices under the ADIPS scheme to HSG 175.
We have developed a standard
approach to the design review process based on a Failure Mode and Criticality
Analysis technique, which ensures a high level of review integrity.
HSEC are the one of the only registered Inspection Bodies to employ professional
Ergonomists for assessments of containment and restrain systems. The 2nd Edition
of Advice for Design specifically requires designers to consider "Human
Factors", an area or Ergonomics, in which our Ergonomists have considerable
experience.
We have extensive experience working with all the major ride manufacturers including Intamin, Maurer Söhne, B&M, Vekoma, S&S, Zierer, KMG, Fabbri, Zamperla, Huss and others.
