Human Factors and Ergonomics In Rail
HSEC staff have played a leading role in the development of acknowledged leading human factors and safety culture assessment methodology. This work has included the HSE's safety climate tool and the development of human error analysis for critical tasks in the offshore industry, and extends to include:
- Safety Procedures,
- Safety Culture Assessments,
- Risk Assessments,
- Noise & Vibration,
- Ergonomic Assessments
- Assessment of Compliance with Legislation and Standards
- Auditing for Potential Error
HSEC staff, lead by Steve Mason, have undertaken several major safety culture reviews in the rail industry. The most notable of these was a comprehensive review of company safety culture for a ROSCO. The review has been far-reaching and was conducted in accordance with the current state-of-the-art, in-house, safety culture assessment.
This work has been followed recently with projects for RSSB, Network Rail, Bombardier and Docklands Light Railway.
