Metronet Rail SSL - Structural Survey
HSEC Ltd were approached by Metronet Rail SSL Ltd to provide an independent review of the proposed repair procedures and materials of Chiswick Park and Uxbridge underground stations which were built in the 1930’s using reinforced concrete; which at the time were showing signs of deterioration.
The structure is a combination of a steel frame encased in concrete and reinforced concrete portal frame supporting reinforced concrete roof slabs.
Included in the survey were:
A visual and hammer rap survey of reinforced concrete surfaces
Covermeter and carbonation depth testing at multiple locations
Recording of defects found
Production of a fully interpretative report, provisional bills of quantities and specification for repairs
