Engineering Safety Verification
HSEC's multidisciplinary team have undertaken safety verification on a wide range of machinery.
We have developed our assessment to systematically identify and target areas of concern using Failure Modes,
Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Hazard Identification to allow issues to be captured from both top
down and bottom up perspectives. Issues raised are then systematically tracked and closed out.
We assess how design issues identified are controlled by confirming complicance against relevent British and European
Stndards including EN 61508.
Where required we can undertake targeted site assessment and testing to confirm that the as built device performs
as intended. Testing is based upon design issues identified and tracked in detail so that an audit trail can
be maintained from risk assessment through to design based issues including safety critical features and
items requiring test to the detailed test results.
When required HSEC's ergonomics department is able to contribute specific detailed expertiese including detailed advice on Human Factors related issues.
Please see our case studies for examples of previous work undertaken.
